Chevrolet Corvette 1958

This 1958 Chevrolet Corvette is a factory Dual Quad model that is powered by its matching numbers 283 cubic inch V8 backed by the original 4-speed manual gearbox. The quad headlight design was new for 1958, and this car is said to be number 302 produced for that model year. It was built on October 24, 1957 and has been driven less 300 miles since it received a full restoration. Options include a Wonderbar radio, heater, windshield washers, courtesy lights, as well as hard and soft tops.

This 1958 Corvette was restored to its original specification before the current owner purchased it six years ago, and the work appears to have held up very well in the intervening years. This car is equipped with both hard and soft tops, and retains its original wheels with wide whitewall tires and hubcaps.

The 1958 Corvette's decorative trim was the most extensive of any quad-headlight car, and much of the trim on this example was removed in 1959. The bumpers used on the '58 model were attached to the chassis rather than the body, as on previous Corvette models.

The 1958 Corvette introduced a substantially updated interior that remained through the end of the C1 model's production run. All interior features function properly, and all painted surfaces have a high-gloss, deep finish. The interior is available with the optional Wonderbar radio and dome lights.

The 283-cubic-inch V8 engine is equipped with the factory dual-quad carburetor and has virtually all the correct values. The cast aluminum and chrome under the hood show no signs of corrosion, and even the cast intake manifold has a good finish. The wiring is tidy, and the plated elements remain in very good condition.
